Large Scale Zoom Outage Resolved
Sometime shortly after 10AM today, Zoom experienced an outage that affected multiple customers including VCU. During this outage, in-progress meetings were unaffected but it was not possible for users to log in at the VCU portal. Function was restored after about a half-hour of down time.
At this time, it’s still unknown what caused the outage, but it seems to have affected multiple services besides Zoom and occurred over a wide geographical area. As more details are known, Zoom will update the status of this incident at https://status.zoom.us/incidents/nb8mlrn4l900
As a reminder, the back-up for videoconference events during a Zoom outage is Google Meet, accessible via your Gmail account or at meet.google.com using your VCU credentials.
