On February 4, VCU Libraries was part of the celebration of a night to remember at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. VCU Alumni from the Los Angeles area were invited to an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and conversation in the historic rotunda of the museum.

Sharing news and updates from VCU were Dean of VCU Libraries and University Librarian, Irene Herold, Ph.D., along with President Michael Rao, Magnus Johnsson, interim vice president for development and alumni relations, Amy Darragh, Ph.D., dean of the College of Health Professions and Carmenita Higgenbotham, Ph.D., dean of the School of the Arts,  to share news and updates from VCU and connect alumni from the area.

Alumni in attendance spanned most schools and units from the VCU Monroe Park and MCV Campuses. The evening began with an introduction from Magnus Johnsson and moved to Dr. Rao, who shared an update on the university and VCU’s trajectory before introducing Dean Darrow. Darrow spoke about research in Health Professions. Dean Herold spoke regarding Student Success and the important role that VCU Libraries play in the success of every student at VCU. Dean  Higgenbotham addressed the need for a strong and supported faculty for the success of all students.
