Peerceptiv: Let’s Talk New Features
Peerceptiv is a peer review tool that allows instructors to facilitate structured peer review for assignments, presentations, and group projects. With a wide variety of configuration options, instructors can create customized learning experiences that fit their course goals.
Peerceptiv supports several assignment types, including:
- Peer and Self Assessment
- Team Member Evaluation
- Live Presentations
- Group Formation
How Does It Work?
Students upload a variety of assignment types, including papers, videos, slide decks, or links, depending on the assignment setup selected by the instructor.
Using instructor-created rubrics, students anonymously and objectively review their peers’ work. These rubrics are highly customizable and can be tailored to meet specific learning outcomes.
Optionally, reviewers can receive a “back review,” in which the submitting student rates the helpfulness and accuracy of the feedback they received. This feature provides additional accountability and insight into the review process.
Existing Features
Prior to Spring 2026, Peerceptiv already offered several valuable features, including:
- LMS integration
- Seamless transfer of grades from the Peerceptiv gradebook to the Canvas gradebook
- Review circles

New Features
Group Formation
Instructors can now allow students to either choose their own group members or complete a Group Formation survey, which can be used to create groups based on specific criteria.
Enhanced Instructor Grading
A new carousel grading tool allows instructors to efficiently grade student work. Instructors can provide comments and choose whether those comments are identified as instructor feedback.
Improved Instructor Review
Instructor Review has been enhanced to support multiple instructors reviewing the same student submission. Instructors can also choose to review only submissions with the lowest reviewer reliability scores.
Reviewer Comment Grading
Instructors now have the option to grade the quality of reviewers’ comments. These scores can be used as the helpfulness grade for students.
Flexible Grade Weighting
Component grading weights can now be adjusted individually for accuracy and helpfulness. This flexibility allows instructors to place more emphasis on either component, less emphasis on either component, or no emphasis at all, instead of relying on a combined review grade.
Data Dashboard
Interested in collecting and analyzing student feedback data? Peerceptiv now offers a Data Dashboard that provides instructors with course-level insights.
The dashboard tracks rubric tag data and assignment completion data across all Peerceptiv activities. To use this feature, instructors must first create tags within their rubrics. Once rubric tags have been established, instructors can view and track related data through the dashboard.
