A Night at The Book Bar
Join fellow alumni book and wine lovers at one of Richmond’s newest social spaces: The Book Bar. Featuring books and bites created exclusively by people of color, The Book Bar is a great spot to meet fellow Rams while supporting local Black- and women-owned businesses. You’ll also have an opportunity to learn more about VCU Alumni’s virtual book club while tasting featured wines and charcuterie samples.
When: 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 15

Cost: $15, includes a wine tasting and charcuterie cup (book club members receive a $5 discount)
Alumni Night at The Diamond
Save the date for a night out at The Diamond to cheer on the Richmond Flying Squirrels as they take on the Bowie Baysox with your fellow graduates. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. Discounted tickets available for alumni.

Rams and Roller Coasters
Get your tickets at a discounted rate for a day of fun at Kings Dominion. The first 100 attendees at the park, starting at 11 a.m. when the park opens, receive a wristband for complimentary drinks the entire day as well as a VCU-branded fanny pack. Tickets are nonrefundable unless the park closes because of inclement weather. Season pass holders and children under 3 don’t need to purchase tickets; simply arrive at the VCU tent at 11 a.m. to claim your wristband and fanny pack, while supplies last.

Socialize with RVA Rams
Beat the summer heat with an evening of fun with local Rams at River City Roll. Social in the City is a great way to grow your Ram network while socializing in a fun and relaxed environment. Learn more about opportunities to get involved, the perks available through VCU Alumni and more.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Alumni Tour
Enjoy a private guided tour of a local Richmond treasure. Explore the garden while learning about the unique botany it houses and observing the spring-to-summer transition of florals. Bring along friends and fellow alumni to enjoy the tour. This is a guided walking tour, so be prepared to be on foot and bring sunglasses or an umbrella in the case of a light sprinkle.

AAAC Raising the Roof Summer Happy Hour
Extend your Juneteenth celebration by joining other VCU alumni at the African American Alumni Council’s summer rooftop happy hour at The Hof. Network with local Black alumni and learn more about getting involved with the AAAC. Music, complimentary appetizers, one drink ticket and VCU giveaways are in store.
