Showing Nov. 25 through Jan. 3

In an age where every 60 seconds 140,000 images are uploaded to Facebook, image production and literacy are more important than ever.  Learn how to use the photographic tools we already have with us everyday, to create compelling images, stories and videos that will cut through the digital clutter of our daily image feeds.

John D. Freyer’s Photography is Magic class explored the concept of “Photography is Time.” Videos were produced using open source imaging software, app based editing tools and a host of image capture technologies. Students channeled their natural image production tendencies into a series of guided daily practice exercises.
The class primarily took place on Instagram via a series of # prompts, so all student work from the last three iterations are still available via # searches. The Cabell Screen exhibit is made of a selection of these Instagram posts.
