On the screen from Sept. 26 – Oct. 28

The first few days of the school year are always buzzing with activity at Virginia Commonwealth University. And there’s no better place to capture the vibe and the excitement than on The Compass.

In what’s become an annual custom, University Marketing set up a basic white backdrop on the Compass – just outside James Branch Cabell Library. Students stopped by between classes to have their photos taken and share their excitement for the upcoming school year. The result? A collection of images that paints a portrait of VCU’s wonderfully vibrant community.

A selection of those images are shared on the Cabell Screen.

New for 2022: The annual “Candid Campus” photo shoot was an opportunity to roll out the university’s new branding, which focuses on VCU as unconventional, uncommon, untraditional and its students as unstoppable. More about Uncommon VCU. — and students paused to have their photos taken, choose a T-shirt and talk about what makes VCU a place unlike any other.
