new graduates celebrating at VCU commencement

Dear faculty colleagues,

As we reach the final stretch of our academic year, we would first like to thank you for your dedication to our students. The heart of this university isn’t the brick and mortar; it’s the late-night grading sessions, the extended office hours, and all the extra efforts and sacrifices you make to help our students succeed. Thank you.

With the finish line in mind, we are reaching out to remind you that all faculty are invited to attend Virginia Commonwealth University’s Commencement on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10 a.m., at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. With school and college commencements, final exams, and a multitude of other deadlines, we recognize that time is even more valuable at the end of the semester. Your presence helps provide closure for our students, celebrates your shared victories, and shows the strength of our VCU community.

Please RSVP by using this form. For any questions you may have, please email [email protected].

Thank you again for all that you do for our students and this university.

With gratitude,

Art Saavedra, M.D., Ph.D., M.B.A.
Interim executive vice president and provost

Kathleen Moritz Rudasill, Ph.D.
Senior vice provost for faculty affairs

Andrew T. Arroyo, Ed.D.
Senior vice provost for academic affairs
