Provost search update
After careful consideration, I have decided to launch a new search for provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the beginning of the academic year.
I sincerely thank the provost search committee members for their unselfish and excellent work over the past few months that will serve as invaluable input when the search is resumed in a few months. I especially want to thank Frank Macrina, vice president for research and search committee chair, and Jim Hinterlong, dean of the School of Social Work and co-chair, for their leadership and hard work in this challenging process.
I will appoint a new search committee in the near future. In the meantime, VCU and the provost’s office are in good hands with John Wiencek serving as interim provost. His strong leadership allows us to take the time we need to conduct a successful search for VCU’s next provost.
I will continue to provide updates on the progress of the new search for VCU’s next provost.
