VCU Parking and Transportation

News & information

Ensuring the safety and efficient transportation of all our RamRide passengers is our top priority. Recently, we have received concerns regarding passengers waiting in their vehicles until the bus arrives and then running in front of the moving bus to stop it.

We want to emphasize that bus chasing will not be tolerated under any circumstance. This behavior poses a significant safety risk and violates VCU Parking and Transportation guidelines. Drivers are discouraged from waiting for passengers who are not physically present at the designated bus stop. Beyond safety concerns, this measure is in place to help ensure a timely commute for all passengers.

To help plan your commute more effectively, we encourage you to utilize the Ride Pingo mobile app, which provides real-time bus arrival information. While we acknowledge the challenges that winter brings, we must prioritize safety and cannot permit the practice of chasing buses, as it poses a considerable risk to everyone involved.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this notice, please do not hesitate to contact us at parking@vcu.edu.
