I Lot subscribers to begin parking in O Lot on Jan. 25
Construction in O Lot is nearing its final stages, and the new facility will open to parking on Monday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 a.m. All O Lot subscribers should begin parking in the lot at this time. To ensure adequate space availability for permit holders upon the start of the semester, the temporary parking arrangements at Eighth St. Deck will expire on Friday, Jan. 22. Standard reciprocal parking privileges, however, will still apply.
Your existing VCU parking permit will grant you access to O Lot and should be hung from your rearview mirror mount so that it is clearly displayed at all times.
Information on O Lot
As a reminder, the O Lot is located just 0.7 miles from the I Lot, at 2100 Mecklenburg Street. This new 447-space paved surface lot will open on January 25 with the following amenities:
- Transportation service will continue to be provided through RamRide, with operating hours of 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. An additional bus will be added to the O Lot route to provide more timely service for subscribers.
- Round-trip service from O Lot to the hospital is approximately 15 to 20 minutes, which remains comparable to the former I Lot route. The O Lot route will also service Eighth St. Deck and Coliseum Deck.
- Security measures for this facility will include RMC Events coverage, barrier fencing, security cameras, and an Emergency Reporting Telephone System (ERTS) phone.
- ID-controlled restrooms are located on-site and will be made available to subscribers.
