Dec. 14 – Upcoming parking/transportation impacts

Our RamRide, RamSafe and customer service operations will be altered during VCU’s winter closing. Please note the following impacts to service:

Campus Connector:

Wednesday Dec., 19 – Friday Dec 21, 2018

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 22 – Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018

No service

Wednesday, Dec. 26 – Friday, Dec. 28, 2018

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 29 – Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019

No service

Wednesday, Jan. 2 – Friday, Jan. 4, 2019

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 5 and Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019

No service

Monday, Jan. 7 through Friday, Jan. 11, 2019

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Jan., 12, 2019

Normal service resumes

Note: Beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 2, the Campus Connector will shift to an express route, serving James Branch Cabell Library, Sanger Hall and J. Sargeant Reynolds RamRide stops only.

A Lot, I Lot, M Lot and R Lot Routes:

Shuttles for the A, I, M, and R lots will run on their normal schedules, with the exception of Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 1. On these days, A Lot, I Lot, M Lot, R Lot, W Deck, and Coliseum Deck subscribers may park in N Deck or Eighth St. Deck.

GRTC Service:

Students and employees of VCU and VCU Health System, including Virginia Premier, receive unlimited transportation access on the GRTC Pulse Bus Rapid Transit and its regular fixed-route bus service (local and express) at no cost to the rider as part of our pilot program with GRTC. You may view additional information regarding this pilot, including route maps, online at go.vcu.edu/grtc.

As a reminder, on Wednesday, Jan. 2, the Campus Connector will shift to an express route, serving James Branch Cabell Library, Sanger Hall and J. Sargeant Reynolds RamRide stops only. Students and employees are encouraged to use GRTC’s Pulse and No. 5 routes for travel between the Monroe Park and MCV campuses.

RamSafe:

RamSafe will operate on its normal schedule of 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. throughout the winter break, with the exception of Sunday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Dec. 25. On these days, RamSafe will operate from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Customer Service:

VCU Parking and Transportation customer service offices will close from Friday, Dec. 21 through Tuesday, Jan. 1 in accordance with the university’s winter closing. In the event you need motorist assistance services during this time, please contact the enforcement supervisor on duty at 804-971-0450.


Dec. 13 – JSD rear exit temporarily closed 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 18-20

Beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 18, the rear exit on Jefferson St. Deck leading to the Downtown Expressway will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to bridge construction behind the facility. Work is expected to occur through Dec. 20 and will be completed at 5 p.m. daily to avoid potential impacts to rush hour traffic.

During these times, we ask that you utilize the deck’s entrance on S. Jefferson St. to enter and exit the facility.

Please be advised that this project is weather sensitive and may be cancelled or delayed in the event of freezing temperatures and/or wet conditions.


Dec. 7- Student parking hours extended during exams

This semester, to accommodate student subscribers during the exam period, we are extending the parking hours for all student commuter, housing and evening parking permits to accommodate those who would like to take advantage of James Branch Cabell Library’s extended hours.Monroe Park Campus student permit holders will have 24-hour access to their designated parking facilities, from Monday, Dec. 10 through Tuesday, Dec. 18.

 

MCV Campus student permit holders will have 24-hour access to the West Broad Street Deck, from Monday, Dec. 10 through Tuesday, Dec. 18.Your VCUCard and/or hangtag permit will grant you access into the deck during the designated days and times.


Dec. 1 – New security provider at R, M Lots

We are proud to announce that we have recently collaborated with VCU Police to acquire RMC Events as our security provider in the M Lot and R Lot.

Beginning on Monday, December 3, RMC Events security officers will be stationed at these facilities from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m., patrolling all parts of the lots (including remote areas) and greeting incoming subscribers during peak hours. During late night hours, officers will help ensure subscribers reach their vehicles safely.
