VCU Parking and Transportation

News & information

Inclement Weather Transportation Update:

VCU transportation options could be affected by this week’s winter storm. Here’s what you need to know!

RamRide:

RamRide will continue to operate until road conditions deem unsafe travel. As always, you can track RamRide real time by visiting vcu.transloc.com or by downloading the VCUMobile app. RamRide status updates will be posted under “Announcements” on the the VCU Transloc site, on Facebook (facebook.com/VCUParking), Twitter (@VCUParking), as well as the Parking and Transportation “News and Alerts” page at www.parking.vcu.edu/news-and-alerts/. You can also view impacts to transportation service via the VCU Alerts page at alert.vcu.edu.

RamSafe:

RamSafe will continue to operate as per normal (5pm-8am) until road conditions dictate unsafe travel. RamSafe will make every attempt to operate as long as possible. In the event travel becomes unsafe, RamSafe may reserve service for essential trips only (ie: from VCU buildings to home, grocery store, etc.). Essential trip reservations will need to be made by calling 828-SAFE (7233).

Additionally, as conditions worsen, there may be certain areas which RamSafe will not service due to accessibility issues.

RamSafe service interruptions will be posted on Facebook (facebook.com/VCUParking), Twitter (@VCUParking), as well as the Parking and Transportation “News and Alerts” page at www.parking.vcu.edu/news-and-alerts/. You can also view impacts to RamSafe service via the VCU Alerts page at alert.vcu.edu.

What you can do to stay safe:

  • If you’ll need groceries, reserve your RamSafe trips earlier during the week, as Friday may be too late.
  • Plan to be at your permanent destination before the storm commences, as travel between locations may be severely impacted.
  • Sign up for VCU Alerts here: http://alert.vcu.edu/signup/index.php.
