Convert a Face to Face Case to an Interactive Online Activity
Do you need to move a case study online? Rather than posting a Word document or adding your case as a discussion question, consider sending your case to Elizabeth to have her convert it to a more interactive format. Below are screenshots of a sampling of cases that have been created at the School of Nursing. In some of these a Blackboard adaptive release rule was applied that enforced completion of the interactive case before a corresponding discussion was made visible to students.
Noah’s Story
Noah’s Story follows the care experience of four-year-old Noah and his mother, Tanya. This online version was created with permission of IHI.

Nursing/OT Interdisciplinary Case
This case, which was developed by Dr. Jo Robins and Dr. Carole K. Ivey, engages Nursing and OT students in collaborative evidence-based practice to guide the care of a patient.

Operation Outbreak: The Case of the Sick Swimmers
This case study, which was converted to an online format with permission of the CDC, helps students learn and practice specific skills related to an outbreak that occurred at a swim club. It includes drag and drop activities, videos, stop and think scenarios…and more.
