Canvas Feature Updates – March 2024
Rich Content Editor- Canvas Media Right-Click Update
Production Environment Availability: 3/14/2024
When right-clicking on media in the Rich Content Editor, the options to download media, open media in a new tab, and copy the media address are removed from the menu. This update enhances the security of Canvas media, increasing the level of difficulty for users attempting to share Canvas media outside of the platform.
Gradebook – Multi-Select Gradebook Filters

New Quizzes – Quiz and Item Analysis Report Fill In the Blank Data
Feature Option Availability: 3/16/2024
The following data is added to the Quiz and Item Analysis report:
- Fill in the Blank- Answer Frequency Summary, Aggregation and supported in the CSV
This update provides additional information on specific question types for instructors to evaluate student responses and provide appropriate intervention. In the Quiz and Item Analysis Report, the Answer Frequency Summary [1] and Aggregation [2] display.
Gradebook – Grading Period Filter Update

In the Gradebook, the start date, end date and closing date display when filtering by Grading Period. This update provides instructors with the ability to streamline their workflow by easily recognizing grading period dates.The Enhanced Gradebook Filter feature option is enabled by default for all institutions.
In the Gradebook, the start date [1], end date [2] and closing date [3] display when applying the Grading Period filter.
Grading period end date, start date and closing also display for Institutions with the Enhanced Gradbook Filter feature option disabled.
