SafeAssign Connection Issues: February 11 – February 15, 2016

On Thursday, February 11th, 2016, a flag was set for java clients to use the supported and safe TLS protocols according to Blackboard policy and recent TLS cipher deprecation. This change caused connection failures to the SafeAssign service for some clients using unsupported protocols or deprecated ciphers.
On Monday, February 15th, 2016, a temporary fix was deployed to enable access to most of the SafeAssign functionality for clients with SSL issues.
The Development team is working on a permanent solution to resolve this limitation.
