*This cost is based on an average housing rate, for specific housing rates visit housing.vcu.edu/help/resources.
  2. Disciplinary probation or suspension
Don’t let one bad decision affect your academic goals.
  3. Restitution payment for damage
Restitution costs often range from $100 to $1,000+.

Tips to stopping vandalism in the residence halls and being considerate of your fellow Rams:

  • Don’t vandalize or damage university property. Not only do you face serious consequences such as loss of housing, disciplinary probation or suspension, and a price tag as high as $9,000+*, you are damaging a home shared with your fellow Rams and are putting their safety at risk. *This cost is based on an average housing rate, for specific housing rates visit housing.vcu.edu/help/resources.
  • If you see something, say something. Keeping our residence halls safe is everyone’s responsibility. If you witness vandalism or have information to share about damage to university property, alert your hall staff.
  • Smile, you’re on camera. If you choose to damage the residence halls, it is likely that you will be caught on surveillance or recorded by a fellow Ram. Footage of you damaging university property could affect your future employment, academic goals, housing options, and more. Don’t take the risk!
