Johnson Hall Closure
Residential Life and Housing is continuing to assess and monitor air quality related to humidity, moisture, and mold in Johnson Hall.
The university has begun an investigation of the building for moisture leaks and our contractor has performed additional inspections in Johnson Hall. On November 22, 2021 we received results for 228 additional spaces that were inspected. 41 of these spaces were found to have elevated mold spore counts.
Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to address the elevated mold levels with appropriate remediation and cleaning, we have determined that it will be necessary to close Johnson Hall for the remainder of the academic year. Johnson Hall residents have been notified and we are working to provide them with alternative living arrangements.
