The dental hygiene program is pleased to announce that Miranda Spera, a Class of 2013 dental hygiene graduate,published an article in the Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning and Community-Based Research. The article is reflective of the service-learning experience in DENH 437/447. She was mentored by the course director Tammy Swecker.

Miranda Spera, an undergraduate dental hygiene Service-Learning student, had her reflective essay, “Service Learning: Bringing Awareness to Interventions Needed within the Aging Community,” published in the Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning and Community-Based Research.

The Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning and Community-Based Research is a refereed, multidisciplinary online undergraduate journal publishing intellectual and reflective work on service-learning and community-based research. The journal is published through the Penn State Berks Center for Service Learning and Community-Based Research.
