UPDATE: Network Services has implemented a temporary fix to restore wireless connectivity for SafeNet and Eduroam network SSIDs. The team is still working with the vendor to resolve the original issue.

We received the following alert from VCU Network Services.
“We are experiencing authentication issues on SafeNet wireless this morning. Network Services believes this is related to a software patch install last night. We are observing high CPU usage and authentications are sporadic when trying to connect to SafeNet wireless SSID. We are working with the vendor to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Please contact the IT Support Center with any questions or concerns at itsc@vcu.edu or 828-2227.”

How this can affect you in our classrooms:

Using WiFi devices authenticated through SafeNet such as Laptops, Tablets, cell phones on wifi will be unavailable. If your device has a physical network port available, you can plug into the classroom podium’s network jack on the front of the podium.

We will be monitoring status.ts.vcu.edu/incidents for updates on this issue and will update this blog when more information is available.
