Wright Center events bring together VCU research leaders, health care providers and research professionals on timely topics.
Upcoming events include:
- The new Community Engaged Research series to train researchers in stakeholder engagement, which hosts its second seminar on Jan. 14
- The second installment of Clinical Research in the Time of COVID-19, where the Wright Center and VCU Health’s Clinical Research Unit team discuss safety and efficiency
- The new K Award seminar series for early career faculty interested in the NIH awards, which continues on Jan. 20
- The Whetting your Appetite for Research series, which kicks off 2021 on Jan. 21 with an event on optimizing your biosketch
- The collaborative Bench to Community series, which continues on Feb. 5 with a seminar on start-ups and faculty funding for commercialization and innovation projects
- And the Health Equity Series, which holds its second community event on Feb. 9 exploring prostate and colorectal cancer disparities in minority communities.

The Wright Center’s funding opportunities include a few with upcoming deadlines:
- The Endowment Fund for grant to individuals and small groups of investigations has a Feb. 1 deadline for its up-to-$50,000 award.
- The Pilot Imaging Fund for grants up to $25,000 is accepting applications until Feb. 21 from investigators looking to use the Wright Center’s Collaborative Advanced Research Imaging (CARI) facility.
- And the Clinical Research Voucher Program has a rolling deadline for investigators looking for funding to use VCU Health clinical research facilities and services.

Request access to a cohort discovery program that helps investigators test feasibility and collaborate with other institutions.

The Wright Center offers three degree programs for researchers looking to build on their clinical or administrative careers:
- Ph.D. in Clinical and Translational Sciences with a concentration in cancer and molecular medicine
- M.S. in Clinical and Translational Sciences
- Certificate in Clinical Research, a post baccalaureate, 12-credit program
- CCTR 640: Team Science Theory & Practice
- CCTR 690: Research Seminar in Clinical and Translational Sciences
