Welcome new Program Specialist!
Lauren Whitlock comes to Virginia Commonwealth University’s Training and Technical Assistance Center as a Program Specialist in Assistive Technology and Intellectual Disabilities. She has 20 years of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist serving students with communication disorders in Hanover County, Virginia and Anchorage, Alaska. She graduated from James Madison University with degrees in Communication Sciences & Disorders and Speech Language Pathology. Supporting students to gain independence through assistive technology, especially augmentative and alternative communication, is a passion for Lauren. She is thrilled to be able to collaborate with professionals, families, and students to utilize assistive technology tools to promote independence and inclusion throughout the region and state!
