Enhance your education with a public health digital badge
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Public Health debuts five microcredential badges in public health.
Students can now expand on their education and career potential by adding a badge in Applied Public Health, Cancer Prevention and Control Science, Epidemiology, Health Policy, and Public Health Communication.
“These new microcredentials offer a flexible way for students and working professionals to gain specialized expertise, sharpen their practice, and showcase competencies in high-demand areas,” said Kellie Carlyle, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.Ed., interim associate dean for academic affairs at VCU’s School of Public Health. “Built from our M.P.H. concentrations, these credentials provide targeted training in high demand areas such as health policy and public health communication, helping learners stay competitive while advancing healthier communities.”
Microcredentials, also known as badges, require three courses each and offered online and in-person, making it easy to add on to a current program or take on its own. They are an effective way to expand a student’s knowledge base and highlight skills in a focused area. Learners can choose an area based on current job needs or long-term career goals. Once completed, the digital badge can be displayed on social profiles, within resumes or CVs, and in email signatures as a visual display of the credential.
