Promotion & Tenure
** Portfolio and Promotion and Tenure Review **
For faculty being reviewed in the 2023-24 cycle: The curriculum vita (CV) is very important to the peer, chair, external reviewers, and the School of Medicine promotion and tenure committee in reviewing your work. It should be as complete as possible.
In consideration of faculty time, faculty that are being reviewed for P&T in the 2023-24 cycle, will have two options for submitting their CV for review.
Option 1: Enter all CV information into Portfolio. Portfolio can be used as a “real-time” CV and can be updated throughout the year as they add new activities (grants, publications, teaching, etc.). Faculty can also upload documents like manuscripts, teaching evaluations, letters of appreciation, notes of thanks, etc. to their Portfolio profile.
- This option is preferred, but may require significant time to complete depending on length of career and prior activities.
Option 2: Enter all activity information from the past year into Portfolio. This is required for the annual evaluation.
For the CV, faculty may upload a recent and completed CV as a Word/PDF file to their Portfolio documents section. This Word/PDF file must follow the formatting based on the template located in the Word file here.
Faculty must also be mindful of the work and accomplishments they want displayed on their faculty expertise page, which may require them to enter select activities (grants, publications, teaching, etc.) into Portfolio.
Going forward the faculty can choose to either just continue to add the current years activities or can enter their full CV over time.
- This option enables faculty to focus on preparing for their P&T evaluation, instead of entering previous activity data into the system.
