Capture2A video starring VCU School of Pharmacy was recognized at the 68th Virginia Public Relations Awards ceremony in May at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

The C. Peter Magrath University Community Engagement Award nomination video won a Capital Award Award of Merit In the external video programs category. Capital Awards recognize public relations tactics, individual items or components of campaigns in 30 categories.

The two-minute nomination video was produced by University Marketing’s Joe Kuttenkuler and Robin McLeod as part of an application package the School of Pharmacy prepared for the Magrath Award. The school subsequently won the Magrath last November for its Pharmacist Collaborative Care and Outreach in the Community program.

Capture3In announcing the video award to faculty involved in the PCOC program, Don Brophy wrote, “You all do such terrific work, we need to let the community at large know!” Brophy is chairman of the School of Pharmacy’s Department of Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Science.

Appearing in the video were SOP Dean Joseph T. DiPiro, faculty Sallie Mayer and K.C. Ogbonna, Pharm.D. student Beth Flippen and graduate student Toni Coe; community partners Julie Bilodeau of Crossover Healthcare Ministry and Greg Ford of Dominon Place; and VCU President Michael Rao.
