The Galen Society recognizes leadership donors to the School of Pharmacy.

In preparation for a major university fundraising campaign, VCU has established new minimum thresholds for endowed gifts. A complete list of thresholds – ranging from $25,000 for a scholarship to $2.5 million for a deanship – is
now available.

In support of the upcoming campaign, the School of Pharmacy has created new donor tiers for its Galen Society, which recognizes leadership annual giving to the school.

The past academic year has brought with it much to celebrate, including two national awards – the Weaver and the Magrath — for transformative community engagement and service, increased rankings in NIH grant funding, a number of new scholarships, and widespread leadership in the national arena: Dean Joseph T. DiPiro, 2016-17 president of AACP; professor Jean-Venable “Kelly” Goode, 2016-17 president of APhA; and professor Gretchen Brophy, 2017-18 president of the Neurocritical Care Society.

As the cost of pharmacy education increases, alumni and friends are invited to invest in the school’s continuing success by helping to provide for programs, faculty, students and facilities. The School of Pharmacy’s new Galen Society levels, effective July 1, 2015, are:

  • Dean’s Society: $1,000-$4,999
  • Pillar: $5,000-$9,999
  • Cornerstone: $10,000-$24,999
  • Legacy: $25,000 or more

If you have questions about the Galen Society or would like to learn more about other giving opportunities at the School of Pharmacy, please contact Ellen Carfagno, director of development, at emcarfagno@vcu.edu or (804) 828-3016.
