The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k will take place this Saturday, April 13. The race will begin on Broad and Harrison Streets and conclude near Franklin and Shafer Streets. As one of the larger races in Richmond, heavy traffic is expected throughout the day and road closures will be implemented, beginning on Thursday, April 11.

Parking impacts:

On Saturday, April 13, the EE Lot, West Broad Street Deck and Laurel Street Deck may be inaccessible from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.  During these times, EE Lot, West Broad Street Deck, Laurel Street Deck and MCV Campus subscribers who will need to park on the Monroe Park Campus may utilize the Bowe Street Deck, located at 609 Bowe Street. Impacted subscribers will be able to utilize this facility from Friday, April 12 at 5 p.m. until 12 a.m. on Sunday, April 14.  Your hangtag permit or VCUCard will grant you deck access.  In the event you encounter any issues when entering or exiting the facility, please press the “i” button, located on the entrance/exit lane reader, for further assistance.

The GG Lot may be inaccessible beginning on Friday, April 12. As a result, GG Lot subscribers may park in West Main St. Deck from Friday, April 12 at 6 a.m. through Sunday, April 14  at 12 a.m. Your hangtag permit or VCUCard will grant you deck access.  In the event you encounter any issues when entering or exiting the facility, please press the “i” button, located on the entrance/exit lane reader, for further assistance.

Transportation impacts:

Connector Express
The Connector Express will be detoured to bypass the closures. All stops will be serviced as normal, with the exception of the Cabell Library stop. This stop will be temporarily relocated to Main and Laurel Streets, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

RamSafe

Due to street closures related to the Monument Ave. 10k race, RamSafe will suspend service at 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 13. Service will resume at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.

GRTC

Temporary detours and bus stop closures will be in place for the race. The full detour plan can be found online at ridegrtc.com/news-initiatives/news-updates/ukrops-monument-avenue-10k-service-alert. As part of these closures, the Pulse will briefly detour off Broad St., which will temporarily close the VCU East and West stops. Regular service will resume at approximately 1 p.m.
