Hurricane Florence Parking/Transportation Impacts

September 11, 8:00 p.m.

Due to the inclement weather predicted for this week, the following impacts to parking and transit operations will take place, beginning on Thursday, September 13:

Parking:

  • M Lot/R Lot subscribers should park in Eighth Street Deck on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14. W Deck and K Deck subscribers may park in Eight Street Deck, if preferred.
  • A Lot subscribers should park in N Deck on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14.
  • I Lot will remain open for subscribers and will be serviced by RamRide as normal on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14.

Transportation:

  • RamRide (including the Campus Connector) will not be in service from Thursday, September 13 through Sunday, September 16, with the exception of the I Lot shuttle.
    • The I Lot shuttle will run as normal on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14. 
  • RamSafe will operate daily from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.  In the event the inclement weather prevents safe operation, this service will be suspended.
  • GRTC continues to prepare for potential service impacts and possible emergency response resulting from Hurricane Florence. Service updates will be posted online throughout the week at http://ridegrtc.com/news-initiatives/news-updates/grtc-service-impact-updates-florence.  VCU and VCU Health System students and employees are encouraged to visit this site for the latest GRTC service information.

Updates to VCU parking and transit operations will be posted on the Parking and Transportation ‘News and Alerts’ web page as well as on Facebook and Twitter.  In addition, subscribers may opt to receive emergency parking related alerts via text message by enrolling at go.vcu.edu/parkingalerts.

Please note, our customer service offices will be closed on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14. In the event you are in need of emergency parking assistance during this time, please contact the Enforcement Supervisor on duty at 804-971-0450.
