New Traffic Plan for 12th Street and Marshall at Gateway
This Saturday, January 16, traffic will change at the corner of 12th and Marshall Streets in front of Gateway Building.
1) 12th Street will be closed to through traffic from Broad Street to Marshall:
a) This closure will remain in effect for 3 years while new School of Medicine is being built.
b) West Hospital circle will remain open for pedestrian drop-off. Enter circle from Broad and exit left on 12th to return to Broad.
c) There will be pedestrian traffic through on 12th.
2) Marshall Street:
a) The right-hand westbound lane of Marshall will be re-opened to traffic entering valet parking at Gateway Building.
b) The center westbound lane of Marshall Street will be for through traffic to 11th Street.
c) The center eastbound lane of Marshall Street in front of Sanger Hall will be for left hand turns into Gateway valet parking.
d) The right-hand eastbound traffic lane of Marshall Street in front of Sanger Hall will shift left as it approaches 12th Street and will continue
down the hill toward College Street.
e) Pedestrians walking along the South side of Marshall Street will be detoured across Marshall Street to avoid walking in traffic lane
at the corner of 12th and Marshall.
