What program/country did you choose and why?

I discovered Bulgaria thanks to a wonderful class project that came my way. When I was enrolled in a World Studies class, we were assigned a project where we had to present on a country that utilized the Slavic alphabet, and I randomly chose Bulgaria. Throughout my research for my assignment, I developed a deep fascination and appreciation for Bulgaria. From its rich history and culture to its beautiful scenery, Bulgaria became a country I knew I had to experience one day.

What made you want to apply for Fulbright in the first place?

I was drawn to Fulbright because of its mission to foster mutual understanding through cultural exchange and education. With my background in philosophy and a passion for exploring diverse perspectives, it is a unique opportunity to engage meaningfully with a different culture while contributing to the community through teaching. I wanted to challenge myself personally and professionally by stepping into a global environment where I could grow as an educator, build cross-cultural connections, and impact through collaboration and learning.

Post-Fulbright, what are you doing now?

I’m back in the US and excited to dive into the job application process! My passion lies in education consulting, especially in developing education programming for Eastern Europe. Right now, I’m eager to get my foot in the door. I’ve got a few interviews lined up soon, so wish me luck!
