Announcements – Added Option
Production Environment Availability: 12/04/2024
On the Announcement Edit page, the Participants must respond to the topic before viewing other replies checkbox is added. The Participants must respond to the topic before viewing other replies checkbox is available when instructors choose to allow participants to comment.
This feature encourages independent thinking and engagement. By requiring participants to respond before seeing others’ replies, it promotes original contributions and prevents bias from reading peers’ responses first.
Discussions – Peer Review Text Update
Production Environment Availability: 12/04/2024
When assigning automatic peer reviews in a Discussion, the date label is changed to Assign Reviews, replacing the previous label, Reviews Due. When automatically assigning peer reviews, the date label is changed to Assign Reviews.
This update ensures consistent language between peer-reviewed assignments and peer-reviewed discussions.
Groups – Course Name Added to Group Tray (Student)

In the Group Tray, groups display the associated course name. In the Group Tray, students can view a group’s course information.
This feature helps users quickly identify each group’s course, reducing confusion and improving navigation.
Rubrics – Leaving Editor Warning

When exiting the Rubric Edit page, instructors see a warning indicating that unsaved work will be lost. A Warning modal displays when exiting the Rubric Edit page.
This update helps prevent instructors from accidentally losing their work by alerting them to save changes before leaving the Rubric Editor page. This ensures that time and effort spent on editing rubrics aren’t unintentionally lost.
Announcements – Disabling Comments

When the Disable comments on announcements setting is enabled in Course Settings, all comment and threaded reply options on the Announcements Edit page are automatically disabled. When the Disable comments on announcements setting is enabled in Course Settings, options related to comments and replies are disabled.
This feature ensures consistency and prevents user confusion by automatically aligning the settings on the Announcements Edit page with the broader course-level configuration.
Notifications – Push Notification Channel

The Users can edit their communication channels setting no longer applies to push notification channels. Push notifications are now solely controlled by the Enable Push Notifications setting. When a user logs into the mobile app, a push notification channel is automatically created for them. This change streamlines push notification management by automatically creating push notification channels when users log into the mobile app and simplifying control through the Enable Push Notifications setting. It improves user experience, reduces configuration complexity, and ensures consistency across platforms.
New Quizzes – Reduce Answer Choices

In New Quizzes, instructors can moderate a student’s quiz by removing one answer choice from multiple-choice questions that have four or more options. To moderate a quiz for a student, enable the Reduce answer choices toggle to minimize the available answer options.
This feature benefits students by decreasing cognitive load, making it easier to focus on understanding the question and selecting the correct answer. It supports accessibility for students with learning differences or test anxiety, promotes confidence by simplifying decision-making, and enhances fairness by aligning with inclusive assessment practices.
