Learning Systems Announcements

Put Some Tech in Your T&L

Learning Systems just completed phase 1 of our website redesign project, using the new VCU Compass framework. The site officially went live February 18th. You can check it out at learningsystems.vcu.edu.

The new site offers quick and easy navigation to teaching and learning resources, training, support, and assistance in a secure, compliant environment that is consistent with other VCU sites.

The site Homepage introduces and provides important information about the Learning Systems team and the services and support we offer. Be sure to check out the feedback section and let us know how we’re doing or how we can improve our service or our website. As you navigate the site’s drop-down menus and quick links you’ll find system operational statuses, login links, and options for requesting help. At the bottom of the homepage, you will see a live feed of our most recent Learning Systems blog posts, so you can keep up with the latest system news and information.

In the top right corner of each page, notice you will always have easy access to the knowledge base, the Learning Systems team, and Canvas’ 24/7 support. We encourage you to take full advantage of these resources.

Get Help offers options for finding answers to your questions, request help, or report a problem. Self-help is also available, with links to our askIT Knowledge Base pages, as well as information on where to go for pedagogical guidance for your course design needs.

Resources provides a one stop place to find everything you need; from the Instructional Technology Toolkit, to workshop recordings, classroom assistance, vendor resources and more.

The Training drop-down menu guides you on how to find and register for training and special events.

Guidelines and Procedures provides a concise breakdown of valuable information about policies and procedures specific to VCU that you may find helpful when using Canvas, Kaltura and other VCU systems.

And finally, we want your Feedback! Good, bad or indifferent; let us know what you think or send suggestions on what you would like to see.

We hope that these new changes will enhance our ability to support you. Phase 2 of our website redesign project will focus on improving our askIT knowledge base content and navigation, which we hope to announce later this year.

We welcome all feedback and suggestions about the website via email to LSFeedback@vcu.edu. Thank you!
