Blackboard Mobile Apps – iOS 13 Issues
With the release of iOS 13 Blackboard has identified multiple issues in both the Blackboard and Blackboard Instructor Apps related to:
- Errors when saving and submitting of assessments that contain files from cloud storage
- Incomplete display of content from system announcements
These issues were not present in the final beta builds of iOS 13 and we believe they are regressions from previous builds of iOS 13. To resolve these issues Apple has expedited delivery of iOS 13.1 from September 30th to September 24th. iOS 13 users should update to iOS 13.1 and the latest versions of the Blackboard App (version 4.6) and Blackboard Instructor App (2.11).

Blackboard App 4.7.1 and Blackboard Instructor 2.12.1 are now available in the Apple App Store. As a reminder, once users update they will need to log out and log back in to re-register the token associated with the push notification system.

Blackboard is preparing an off-cycle release (Blackboard App 4.7.1 and Blackboard Instructor 2.12.1) for iOS to address an issue on iOS 13 where users are not receiving push notifications. We will be submitting the update tomorrow (Nov. 1, 2019) and anticipate the update being available in the Apple App Store by November 4th. Once users update they will need to log out and log back in to re-register the token associated with the push notification system.
