Lyndon F. Cooper | School of Dentistry

Student enrolled in the Cosby High School Health Sciences Specialty center had fun and learned about dentistry and dental school.  The students learned about carving and waxing teeth, restorative dentistry using our virtual reality DentSim system, and impression making.  The health-sciences program is directed by Shelly Schuetz (pictured with Dr. Ellen Byrne and Dr. Leibowitz) from Cosby High School and is supported by faculty from VCU.  I had the pleasure to attend their graduate recognition ceremony last May and meet many talented students and faculty members.  Thanks to Dr. Michael Healy, Associate Dean for Admissions and International Affairs (pictured directing the DentSim sessions), Dr. Byrne, Senior Associate Dean, and Dr. Leibowitz, Director of Pre-health Advising for VCU for making this a successful community collaboration.
