Hello everyone. I have been working with residents on research projects focusing on root canal morphology. These include radiographic and CBCT analysis of three-rooted premolar anatomy and the association of the portal of exit of missed MB2 canals with apical periodontitis.

Ongoing research projects are directed towards vital pulp therapy. I am currently a part of a joint collaboration between the AAPD and the AAE, wherein a comprehensive meta-analysis is being performed to develop a guideline for vital pulp therapy for permanent teeth.

I am also involved in a survey wherein trends and protocols for vital pulp therapy will be gathered from several dental schools across different countries.

My thanks to the VCU School of Dentistry for sharing news of my board certification.

Please contact me at athera@vcu.edu if you have any questions or suggestions.
