Spring 2013 Alumni Connections
Dear Friends,
We have completed another successful school year in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
This year brought with it many positive changes. There have been numerous awards, research presentations, publications and a much needed growth of our clinical practice here on the MCV Campus. We continue to expand upon our partnership with Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU and the Dental Clinic on Brook Road.
The Pediatric Dentistry Board of Advisors continues to provide input to our department from our alumni and friends. Our most exciting news is the announcement of an emerging professorship to achieve excellence today and honor two pillars of the department that have helped make where we are today possible. We currently are in the leadership gift phase of the campaign for the Frank H. Farrington and Arthur P. Mourino Professorship Fund. Dr. Carl Atkins, ‘83, initiated this fund with his gift of $60,000 that has also been supported by a gift of $50,000 from Dr. Randy Adams, ’80. They ask for the support of alumni and friends in making leadership gifts as they have. Ed Kardos from our development office will be contacting you to give updates on how we are doing, and please feel free to contact Carl, Randy or myself.
