2011 saw the installation of a Kodak 9300 CBCT for shared use among the Departments of Periodontics and Endodontics. Currently, endodontic residents and faculty are using the images for diagnosing and treatment planning of all surgical cases, internal and external resorption, suspected missed canals in refractory cases and dental anomalies just as dens en dente.

Patients have been receptive to imaging. Cost is minimal and residents are able to manipulate the images in each operatory and show findings to the patient. Selective diagnostic images from each scan are placed in the patient’s digital patient record.
