Sign-In with Email! (and don’t forget to sign-out)
This summer the VCU Instructional Computing Services team will be transitioning ALL centrally-managed classroom computers to a new endpoint management platform called Microsoft Intune. While this change involves the team reinstalling the Windows 11 operating system on every computer, it also means some changes to the way you will need to sign-in.

As demonstrated in the animation below, once a computer has transitioned to Microsoft Intune (notice the “map” background screen), you will need to sign-in using your FULL VCU email address, ex. [email protected].
Remember to Sign-Out
As a friendly reminder, we ask that ALL users of any VCU managed computer remember to sign-out (“logoff”, “logout”, and “sign-off”) from their computer profile before leaving the room. By signing-out of your profile you help to ensure the next person who needs to use the computer won’t need to resort to rebooting, power-cycling, or have to call for assistance. It’s a simple thing to do too! Just click the yellow “Sign-Out” button in the bottom-right corner. See screenshot below.

Of screens that glow and passwords sync.
With a final click, I sign my name,
And close the door on this digital game.
The keys fall silent, the cursor still,
The tasks can wait, I’ve had my fill.
A deliberate exit, a mindful end,
In this brief moment, my data’s friend.
The world outside is calling me,
Beyond the screen, where I’m truly free.
So I sign out, with peace of mind,
Leaving no trace of me behind.*
*Any data you download to any VCU-managed multi-user computer may be deleted upon reboot and is not guaranteed to be stored for any duration beyond your current user-session on the computer. This includes your web browser sessions, downloads, and other data associated to your VCU accounts stored locally on the computer.
