Six short films supported by the Wright Center are now available to be streamed.

The films address the mental trauma of COVID-19 on Black and Brown communities and were produced by Richmonder Morgan Avery McCoy Harris.

The How Do We Heal series was supported by the inaugural Wright Center Community Mini-Grant and features acted vignettes of common experiences, as well as interviews from experts and community members.

  • “Trapped” addresses domestic violence.
  • “FaceZooming” is about the experience of senior citizens.
  • “Numb Normal” addresses the experience of a man whose family has been hard hit by the pandemic.
  • “Virtual School” is about the experience of online schooling.
  • “Mental Health Worker” addresses the struggles of a busy counselor.
  • “I am a Man” features the personal experiences of a young man facing racial injustice and discrimination.

People can receive access to the videos now by filling out the form for the toolkit on the How Do We Heal website.

There will be a virtual premiere of the films on Thursday, October 7, from 6:30-9:00 p.m., where project leaders will be on hand to introduce the films. Register on the How Do We Heal website.
