A growing COVID-19 registry is now easily accessible to all Virginia Commonwealth University researchers. Any VCU investigator working in basic science, clinical and translational research may request access to registry samples, data, or both.

Principal Investigator Somaya Albhaisi, M.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the VCU School of Medicine, created a COVID-19 registry this summer. Officially called the VCU Registry of SARS-CoV-2 (VCU-RS), the biobank is a collection of blood samples from COVID-19 patients, linked to a database that stores a wide array of information about those patients. Read more about the registry on VCU News.

VCU researchers can download and submit a form to request access to the registry.

Albhaisi launched the registry with the help of a COVID-19 Rapid Research Funding Opportunity, funded by the VCU Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation and the Wright Center.
