2019-2020 Housing Dates and Deadlines
Has your student thought about where they are going to live next year? There are several options and resources both on-and-off campus your student can take advantage of to find a place.
Students interested in living on-campus next year will need to fill out a housing application for the Fall 2019-Spring 2020 academic year. Housing applications will open at noon today, Jan. 18 and are due no later than Feb. 8, 2019, at noon. Students who submit an application by the deadline will be entered into a lottery system. Submitting an application does not guarantee a space on-campus, but rising sophomores will be given first priority. Students can apply via the online Housing Application.
Lottery numbers will be distributed to students on March 11, 2019. Students will have the opportunity to select their halls, rooms and roommates at their assigned times. Rising sophomores will be able to make their selections between March 12 and March 16 and all rising juniors and seniors will make their selections starting on March 14.
Same room sign-up is available in select halls for students who wish to live in the same room for the 2019-2020 academic year. Your student should check with their housing staff to see if same room sign-up is available for their building. Students staying in their current residence may pull in roommates once their housing is confirmed. Same room sign-up will run from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15.
If you and your student are curious about on-campus housing options you can take a virtual tour or join Residential Life and Housing at the Apartment Showcase on Jan. 29 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Throughout the event, you will have the opportunity to tour Ackell, Broad & Belvidere, Cary & Belvidere, Grace & Broad, West Grace North and West Grace South by visiting the buildings. Students looking to live off-campus have a variety of options available to them. Off-Campus Student Services offers multiple resources to aid students in their search including a list of available properties posted by local property managers, roommate mixers, budgeting workshops and more. Students should also be aware of additional upfront costs they will need to factor into their housing search. These can include application fees, security deposits and pet deposits, some of which they may get back at the end of the lease. Students should check the policies on deposit return and what could lead to the full amount not being returned to them.
