We are so excited to see you this weekend at Family Weekend from October 6th-8th! This blog serves as a reminder of events you may have registered for and important information about each event. Read through the blog and let us know at family@vcu.edu if you have any questions! Make sure to check out the full list of other events on our website as well so you can make the most of Family Weekend! 

Ramily Rally

You have registered for the Ramily Rally on Saturday, October 7th at 11am. This event will be hosted at the Commons Plaza right in front of the iconic Rams Horns (907 Floyd Avenue)! Make sure to bring your chairs and blankets as we have limited seating. Come meet Rodney, the basketball team coaches, and see the Peppas and Spirit Squads. Food will be served at 11:30, but come at 11 for the spirit and excitement! !

Honors Family Weekend Open House

This is a reminder that you have registered to attend the Honor Family Weekend Open House! The open house will occur on the patio outside the Honors building, 701 W Grace St, Richmond, VA 23220.  Please join us from 3:30-5:30, during this time you will be able to check out the Honors facilities, and meet the wonderful advisors and faculty at the Honors college.

New STEM Building Tours; Hosted by College of Humanities and Science

You have registered to attend a tour of VCU’s new STEM building. Your tour is on Friday, Oct. 6th, at 4:00 p.m., leaving from the first-floor lobby. This is one of VCU’s newest buildings, having just opened this past spring; made to nurture and build laboratory skills for tomorrow’s scientists.

Pies and Paint [Friday]

 You have registered for Pies and Paints during VCU’s Family Weekend. This event will be taking place in the Academic Learning Commons, 1000 Floyd Ave, Richmond, VA 23220,  in room 1201, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Pies and Paint is an opportunity to express your creativity while enjoying pizza with local Richmond artist John Price. You aren’t expected to bring anything, but you will be walking away with your own personal masterpiece.

Paint and Pastries

You have registered for Paint and Pastries during VCU’s Family Weekend. You’ve registered for Pies and Paint on Saturday, October 7th from 5-7pm. This event will be hosted in the Richmond Salons of the Commons. Make sure to bring $5 to cover the cost. Come spend time with us and get those creative minds flowing in the paint with a lovely slice of pizza on the side!

Family Council Donut Walk

You’ve registered for the Family Council 0.5K Donut Walk on Sunday, October 8th at 9 am. We will start the walk at the Commons Plaza. Make sure to wear good walking shoes! After the walk, you’ll be rewarded with a soft, delicious donut and an official 0.5K Donut Walk medal! Donut forget, and thanks for supporting the Student Emergency Fund!

Family Weekend Brunch

You have registered for the Family Weekend Brunch at Market 810 on Sunday, October 8th from 10:30 am to 2pm. Make sure to bring money or your student’s swipes for this event. Enjoy a meal with your student before heading home from Richmond!
