September 2020 Family Spotlight – Cunningham Family
Today we’re thrilled to spotlight the Cunningham family! Scott, Jessica, Carson, Grace and VCU student Nick are from Virginia Beach, Virginia and Nick, a Political Science major, is set to graduate as a member of the Class of 2024. Check out our interview with the Cunningham family below:
What made you all choose VCU?
I’ve always wanted to live in the city. It felt like home.
What has been your favorite experience at VCU so far?
I went on a tour and loved the feel of the campus.
Have you had any memorable moments with your student so far this year? (i.e. calling you the first time they were sick on their own, etc.)
Nick was beyond thrilled to have been accepted to VCU. The light in his face was priceless. We know VCU will be a great home for him for the next 4 years.
What advice would you give to students and/or other parents and families?
In these current times be patient and kind. Also, trust yourself and trust your college student to be as you raised them.
What else would you like us to know about your family? (This could be anything you want to share including hobbies, creative remote learning set-ups and more!)
We are a crazy busy hockey family. We love spending time traveling for vacations.
