Tips for Having Your Student Home
Though they haven’t been gone long, your student has gone through a lot of changes while they’ve been away to school. They’ve been in charge of their own schedule, when they go to sleep, when and what they eat and much more. This newfound independence can cause tension when they return home for break, and you all will have to work together to set new guidelines. Your best option would be to talk to your student and set expectations for their time while home. Their priorities may differ from yours (seeing friends, sleeping, catching up) so it’s important to be flexible when talking with them. Remember that respect and communication run both ways and the best way to ensure a good time is to work it out together!
