We are excited to welcome you to campus October 4-6 to spend some quality time with your student and experience VCU and the Richmond community! Check out some final reminders below.
Check-In Times and Location:

Fri., Oct. 4, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Student Commons, 2nd Floor Virginia RoomsSat., Oct. 5, 9 a.m – 12 p.m. at Student Commons, First Floor Lobby (Outside POD Market)

Due to Open House and the Richmond American Heart Walk event it is strongly preferred that you or your student check-in on Friday. Students may check in on your behalf and pick up your tickets with their VCUCard (ID). All Family Weekend registrants should check-in upon arrival for FamilyWeekend. 

Walk-Up registration is available for families who did not get a chance to register online ahead of time.

Registration is $5 per guest (adults and children ages 3 and up). Infants 2 and under and students are free. This fee includes your Family Weekend Access Pass which grants you access to all the free, non-ticketed VCU events.

Any tickets for ticketed events that may still be available will be sold first-come, first-serve. Ticketed events are extremely limited.
 
Parking & Accommodations
Free and paid parking options are available throughout the weekend. Free parking will be available in VCU parking decks on the dates and times listed below and the city offers both paid and free street parking. Please adhere to all signage if you plan to park on the street. For addresses and maps to all VCU parking facilities, please visit the Parking and Transportation website.

Friday 10/4
Paid parking is available in the following decks if you exit before 5 p.m. Gates will be lifted at 5 p.m. and cars exiting after that time will not need to pay.

West Cary Street Parking Deck- 1201 W. Cary St.
West Broad Street Parking Deck- 1101 W. Broad St.

Saturday 10/5 & Sunday 10/6
FREE parking available all day:

Please note the following street closures taking place on Sat., Oct. 5 that may impact Family Weekend parking and getting around:
 October 5th / Richmond American Heart Walk Event
The following locations will be CLOSED for the American Heart Walk Event: 
100 Blk. N. Laurel Street btwn W. Main & Franklin Street
100 Blk. N. Pine Street btwn W. Grace & Franklin Street
800 Blk. S. Cathedral Pl. btwn N. Laurel & N. Cathedral P/ N. Cherry StreetThe closure hours will begin from 5:30 AM to 12:00 PM. There will be No Parking permitted in these locations starting at 5:00 AM. 

There will also be No Parking permitted on:
W. Main Street (North Side) btwn N. Laurel & Mulberry Street
N. Mulberry Street (East Side) btwn W. Main Street & Monument AvenueMonument Avenue (South Side) btwn N. Mulberry & Lombardy Street
W. Franklin Street (South Side) btwn N. Lombardy & Laurel Street.

The hours for these locations will be from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The walk will begin from Monroe Park at 10 AM and should conclude by 12:00 PM.

Accommodations
Overnight lodging is not provided for Family Weekend but there are multiple hotels within walking and driving distance of campus. For our out-of-town guests, we suggest these Richmond-area hotels

Access Passes are only available for families who have registered for FamilyWeekend and can be picked up during Family Weekend Check-in on Friday and Saturday. Check the Family Weekend Schedule for exact Check-in location and times.

For quick reference to Family Weekend events, download the VCU Families guide on the ​VCU RAM Guide app, powered by Guidebook! ​We used RAM Guide at Orientation, so you may already have it downloaded on your smart device. If not, simply visit guidebook.com/app/ramguide to text yourself the link to download it. Once you have the app downloaded, open ​RAM Guide and search or select VCU Families to open the VCU Families guide.
