VCU LEAD is excited to recruit for our newest class of LEADers! VCU LEAD is a dynamic 2-year living-learning program designed to help students hone their leadership skills and gain real world leadership experience to help them be successful when they transition forward from VCU.

VCU LEAD educates students about leadership and facilitates their integrative learning through classroom instruction, reflection, and practical application.  Participants who complete all program requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion in Leadership Studies and will be able to integrate their learning through participating in a leadership pathway that compliments their major. Pathway experiences can include community service, internships, study abroad, undergraduate research, innovation, and peer leadership.

The requirements to participate in VCU LEAD once accepted include:

  • Reside in the Grace and Broad Residence Center for the 2 year program
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA while enrolled
  • Complete at least 80 hours of combined leadership engagement and community service
  • Enroll in a 10-credit leadership certificate program
  • Submit a curricular and co-curricular portfolio

Students who participate in VCU LEAD find that it is one of the most significant learning experiences in their time at VCU. Not only do they build a strong supportive community of peers, but they gain knowledge that will drive them to succeed after they graduate.
