Welcome to the VCU Class of 2023! As part of the Weeks of Welcome, VCU Recreational Sports is hosting Rec Sports Night on Sunday, August 18, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Rec Sports Night is a perfect opportunity for first-year students, and anyone new to VCU, to explore all Rec Sports has to offer.

Students will receive a “Passport” upon entry that will have a facility map and guide as well as spots for stamp collecting. When students visit certain areas/programs of Rec Sports Night, they will receive a stamp that correlates with the area they visited.

  • Two stamps: Free Food in the Wet Classroom.

  • Four stamps: Free T-shirt while supplies last.

  • Five stamps: Entry into a raffle for prizes.

    • Each additional stamp past five stamps is another entry into the raffle.

Along with information tables from each Rec Sports program, the night will include: Group Ex classes from Vinyasa Yoga to S.U.P. HIIT, Log Rolling, Wheelchair Basketball with our partner, SportableRVA, five-minute massages, Sport Club demonstrations, S’mores at the Outing Rental Center and more! Chat with our event sponsors, such as BetterMed, Graduate Hotels and more throughout the facility who will have their own giveaways.

Students can use the RamGuide to check in to Rec Sports Night using the QR code and be entered into a raffle for a semester’s worth of tuition.

This event is not limited to the Class of 2023. VCU Rec Sports members and upper-level students are welcome to attend and use the gym as usual. Please note that there will be a large number of students in attendance. Linden Street, between Cary and Cumberland Streets, will be closed to traffic 12:00 noon to 11:30 p.m.
