Gold ribbon with black trim with "#VCUunity" in large letters across the front

Thank you to everyone who joined VCU students, faculty and staff for VCU Celebrate Inclusion today, March 11, from 9 – 11 a.m. in Park Plaza. This event provided an opportunity to celebrate VCU’s diversity and show your commitment to making our campus a more inclusive community.

Students had the opportunity to pick up a doughnut, cookies, flowers, coffee and yellow #VCUunity ribbons to celebrate their commitment to inclusion and diversity. Booths included giveaways from the Well, Equality VCU, VCU Libraries and many more. Students lined up to sign a chalkboard with encouraging messages and picked up sunflowers complete with positive affirmations.

In support of the event, departments across the university provided information about resources for students, and the large screen at James Cabell Branch Library displayed the #VCUunity ribbon and a short video by student artist Kyle Williams (’20) depicting illustrations of VCU students through the ages, originally created for VCU’s 50 year anniversary as a university.

This event was sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, Division of Inclusive Excellence, Student Success and VCU Student Government Association.
