VCU’s Spring Break will take place Sunday, March 3 to Sunday, March 10 for both the Monroe Park and MCV Campuses. Whether your student is taking part in an Alternative Spring Break, internship or returning home for the week, it is important to start planning early and be mindful of safety.

Wondering how your student is going to get home from break? Richmond has a variety of options including Amtrak, Greyhound Bus Station, Megabus and Richmond International Airport. RamAway provides free transportation during most university holidays and semester breaks to or from Richmond International Airport, the Greyhound Bus Station, and the Amtrak stations at Main Street Station and Staples Mill Road. Information about the dates that RamAway is available or how to reserve a spot can be found here.

Is your student looking to take a trip but doesn’t know where to go? VCU Recreational Sports Outdoor Adventure will host a northern Patagonia road trip during spring break. Participants will travel down the Carretera Austral, the highway of national parks in Chilean Patagonia. Activities during the March 2-10 trip include camping, hiking, interacting with residents and service projects. The trip begins and ends at Puerto Montt, Chile; participants are responsible for individual transportation. Register (by Feb. 22) at the following URL. For more information, contact Joey Parent at parentaj@vcu.edu or (804) 828-8986 or visit the Rec Sports Outdoor Adventure Programs website.
