VCU Family Weekend is October 23-25 and there are many events planned for students and their families. Some of the highlights include the MCV Family Picnic, Rams Got Talent Show, tours of the newly expanded Cabell Library, the First-Year Parent and Family Brunch, Green Unity Harvest Bazaar, the Evasons Mentalist Mind Reading Duo, multiple athletic events, several performances and exhibits by School of the Arts students, and a variety of events hosted by the academic schools and college. You don’t want to miss it!

If none of the on-campus events grab your attention, we invite you to check out the wonderful city of Richmond. Our city is a host to many museums, parks, specialty shops, and historical attractions that are sure to keep you busy! It is highly recommended that you make your lodging and any dinner reservations now as Family Weekend falls during Restaurant Week, a very popular time of year for our city’s foodies. Click here for more information about the restaurants participating and make your reservations online.

Visit familyweekend.vcu.edu to check out the schedule, lodging options, parking instructions and additional information. You are encouraged to read all of this information thoroughly before you RSVP to attend. Most events are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis, but there are a few events that require advanced registration and payment. All reservations for Family Weekend are nonrefundable.

We would love to receive your RSVP no later than October 21 at noon so that we can adequately plan for your arrival! Walk-up registration will also be available from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23 and 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 in the Student Commons. If you have questions, please contact the Office of New Student and Family Programs at (804) 828-3700 or via email at famweekend@vcu.edu.
