Celebrating VCU Class of 2017
Today, 2,900 students will become alumni of Virginia Commonwealth University. It is an honor to gather with colleagues, family and loved ones to celebrate years of hard work and dedication to academic excellence accomplished by our graduates.
Graduates have earned a degree from a major national research university dedicated to collaboration across disciplines, innovation and creativity. They are a group equipped with the knowledge and ability to approach current and future challenges with tenacity and also with a strong sense of humanity.
Today’s graduates are part of a group whose 4-year graduation rate has increased by 20% and the university graduates nearly 60% more undergraduates than it did ten years ago. This is the result of exemplary support from educators, mentors and a supportive community.
